Common Boa Constrictor
Boa Constrictors are native to much of Central and South America, from Mexico to
Argentina and due to geographical isolation there are many sub-species. They are found
in in tropical rainforests, semi-deserts, rocky hillsides, savannas, and near cultivated
fields and homes. Although they are not endangered yet, their numbers in the wild
continue to drop due to habitat destruction. Although these snakes are protected over
much of their range, many skins are still sold to the leather trade every year.
